About us
The Institute is one of the oldest private schools for Beauty Therapists and was founded 50 years ago by Mrs. Tine De Vries who started the institute in the heart of the city Groningen in the north of the Netherlands.In 1999 Mrs. Ellen James - de Vries became school owner. Mrs. James - DeVries started her career at the Institute where she was a student in Beauty Therapy. After her CIDESCO training in 1991 she started the first CIDESCO course. Later she became CIDESCO school examiner and International examiner. The Institute enjoys a National and International reputation for quality education on all levels. Qualifications
Beauty Therapist National is guided by ANBOS and KOC the Netherlands. The courses are from one class per week to a full week schedule over a period of 9, or 14 months. Students must undergo the course in Theoretical and Practical training. On completion the students take the KOC MCQ examinations and Practical examinations. Students can also make a combination of courses, Beauty Therapy and Visagie, Beauty Therapy and Shiatsu Massage, Beauty Therapy and Sport massage, Beauty Therapy and Feet care. Full Beauty
Therapy courses for National and International Beauty Therapy lead to qualifications under the recognized examining bodies of KOC the Netherlands and CIDESCO. The course is full-time over a period of 12 months. Students are trained on an academic level and aims to take students through all aspects of beauty therapy.

- ANBOS: Dutch association of Beauty Therapists. The Anbos strives to improve the professional standards of Beauty Therapy.
- CIDESCO: Comite International D´Estetiques et de Cosmetology was founded in 1946. Cidesco is the most prestigious organization of worldwide Beauty Therapists and is represented in 34 countries and over 200 CIDESCO Schools around the world.

Examinations
CIDESCO schools have to satisfy CIDESCO regulations and policy. CIDESCO headquarters are in Zurich Switzerland who organizes the exams and send an International delegate to the school for final examinations.Beauty Therapists with a minimum of three years Work Experience can follow the CIDESCO course to take the CIDESCO exams for their International CIDESCO diploma. These students must undergo the Theoretical and Practical classes within 4 months before the examination. All courses in Beauty Therapy lead to National and Internationally recognized qualifications.
